Sumayya Soni has over ten years experience in the field of Audiology and Speech-Language Therapy.
She studied at the University of the Witwatersrand (WITS), graduating with an Honours degree in Speech-Language Therapy & Audiology in 2006. She completed her 4th year practical training at Baragwanath Hospital and at various schools. She completed her Community Service year in 2007 at the Johannesburg Hospital; gaining experience in both Audiology, as well as Speech-Language Therapy. She was awarded membership into the Golden Key International Honours Society in 2003. In 2009 she completed an Honours degree in English Language and Literature at Wits University and graduated with distinction.
From 2010 Sumayya gained extensive experience working in various settings; in private clinics and in private practice in both Audiology and Speech-Language Therapy. She also worked for a short period in the publishing industry; writing and editing, and then as a freelance writer and editor. Sumayya has always been interested in helping people and in 2013 realised that her passion was in Speech-Language and Hearing Therapy and in contributing and working in the medical field. She made her passion for helping people and her love of the hearing and communication sciences her sole focus and purpose, and has been working in this field whole-heartedly ever since.
Towards the end of 2013, Sumayya focused the summation of her energy into the opening of a Speech-Language Therapy & Audiology practice at the Parkview Medical Suites.
Sumayya continues to strive to help both children and adults with hearing, as well as communication challenges, to the best of her abilities.
